Vehicle Description
This time capsule is absolutely stunning car in great original
condition and is loaded with rare optional equipment. The Rambler
features 327 CID V8 engine, three speed automatic transmission with
center console shift, power steering, tilt steering wheel, power
door locks, power front disc brakes, and power convertible top. The
interior is all original including the carpet (excellent) , seats,
seat belts, glove box interior (finished in the same style and
pattern as the seats!) door panels, and switches. The exterior
paint is the original color and has benefited from a high quality
refinishing. The car has been very well maintained its entire
existence and features newer shock absorbers, Michelin radial
tires, ignition wires, and rebuilt brake calipers. Here is what

Some of this you may already know, but the VIN breaks downs as
follows:
1966 770 Rambler Convertible built in Kenosha, WI March 1966, with
a floor shift 3-speed automatic and a 327cid 270 hp 4-barrel
engine.
The engine tag is missing, they usually are, but the casting date
is December 1965.
AMC changed the VIN numbering system in mid 1966, this has the
latter 13 digit numbering system, keep in mind the model year
starts in August.
100445 would have been produced March 1966 and the engine was cast
in December 1965 4-months prior to the car being finished, so I
would say the engine is certainly date correct and is has SS-code
327 heads.
By looking at it, I'd say the engine has never been out of the car,
it has all indications of being the original factory engine. 1966
was the last year for the 327 engine, it was replaced by the
343/280 in 1967 Thank you,
