Vehicle Description
1952 Buick Super Sedan
Bill Haley had just formed the first rock group, the Comets. Big
Detroit iron, trimmed in Chrome to the excess, and powerful
eight-cylinder engines dominated the market, and gas was a mere 20
cents a gallon. The bigger the better, the longer the more status,
and the more luxurious the more customers.
73,250 ORIGINAL miles have been clocked, by a mere 3 owners of this
beautiful Buick. No rust, and garaged its entire life, it has seen
1 repaint to match the original Teal factory color. Meticulously
maintained, the inline 8-cylinder engine runs extremely quiet, and
smooth. The unscathed and near perfect chrome on this car alone is
worth the selling price!
Exterior
No rust, some body work on doors, and excellent show condition
chrome, are contrasted by the Teal Blue Body four-door and
complimented by a Beach White hardtop. Any stainless trim accenting
the car is in good condition. Virtually new tires are seen all
around and are fronted by original hubcaps. All exterior lights are
original, and in working condition. 3 iconic chrome ventiports can
be seen on each side of the front fenders and are flanked by a
comet trail trim strip that extends from the hood, to the bottom of
the rear doors. A, B, and C posts are all in very good condition.
The gargantuan hood topped by the bullet and bulls eye ornament,
extends gracefully to the front grille, which is inscribed with a
cursive black contrasting engraved "Buick Eight". Chromed curb
feelers adorn the passenger side of the car to help guide this boat
to the curb.
Interior
A gleaming gray over light green metal dash is peppered with chrome
accessories (heaters controls, working clock, speedometer, radio,
and other gauges) fronts the tan cloth interior envelopes the bench
seats in the front and rear, and accents the upper door panels.
Complimenting the door panel upper cloth, are vertical stitched
vinyl panels completing the bottom. Interior vinyl door panels are
in excellent condition, as are the vinyl covered door
pulls/armrests. The roped wind lace on the driver's door surround
shows some wear, and fraying, but is in otherwise good condition,
as is the headliner. An original black and massively chromed
steering wheel and cut pile carpeting with minimal staining
completes the interior.
Drivetrain
A 263ci "fireball" straight eight, coupled to an automatic 3 speed
Dynaflow Transmission, which makes use of a torque converter in
lieu of changing gears, can accelerate this large vehicle to a top
speed of 90mph. The current consigner states that the transmission
was rebuilt on October of 2017, as well as a new front-end
alignment performed at this time. Suspension and shocks are in good
condition, and coil springs have spacers installed to level the
stance and improve ride and handling. Noticeable heat barrier
insulation has been installed to prevent excessive heat from
exhaust manifold from influencing the fuel entering the intake
system, and carburetor, fuel boiling etc. Drum brakes are present
on all four wheels.
Documentation and Accessories
Original shop manual, owner's manual, miscellaneous parts
catalogues, as well as replaced parts, and original tissue
dispenser are included. Extra rubber floor mats, and an owner
afghan are included as well.
This beautiful rust-free example from 1952, shows gleaming chrome,
and in mostly original condition. It runs very smoothly and has
spent very little time outside in the elements. Repaint appears as
good, and all systems are in good working condition. A Buick
classic that can be driven away, and immediately catch ogles, and
ahhhhh's!
