Prior to 2004 it regularly went for scenic cruises, car shows and parades in the summer and carefully stored in the off-season.

The Chevrolet Corvair is a compact car manufactured by Chevrolet for model years 1960–1969. It was the only American-designed, mass-produced passenger car to use a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine. The Corvair's are rear engine 6 cylinder vehicles which broke the mold of the American sports car necessitating a heavy V8. It was the only American designed, mass-produced car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. It was truly a groundbreaking American car in many aspects designed to compete with European manufactured sports cars. Their popularity grows today with a large fan following.
