Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer this 1985
Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. Mazda
first offered the revolutionary Wankel' rotary engine powering
this RX-7 in 1978. The engine defied the norm with its design by
featuring a triangular rotor that revolves around the combustion
chamber instead of the traditional pistons, resulting in a much
smaller displacement. On top of this, the engine was so light and
compact that it could be mounted behind the front axle and meant
the RX-7 had a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Following the
initial success of the 12A engine, Mazda introduced the slightly
higher displacement 13B rotary engine with a larger output of 135hp
that was exclusive to the GSL-SE in 1984/85. Paired to this peppy
motor is a responsive 5-speed manual transmission and unique to the
GSL-SE over base model RX-7's is limited slip differential, larger
brakes and distinctive wheels (the owner has stated he will include
these original wheels with the sale). Our RX-7 for sale right now
in our Scottsdale location is quite possibly the best example I
have ever seen, and I grew up seeing these cars all over the place
on the West Coast in the 1990's! The car has been repainted in its
original silver, it features a custom Kenwood stereo with oversized
speakers behind the seats and all windows have been tinted meaning
you will look extra cool driving this retro Japanese coupe! The
Carfax shows that this car has spent its entire life in California
and Arizona (southwest car) and has 92,293 original miles (mileage
cannot be verified by GCC). The good news for perspective buyers of
an RX-7 is that prices for these probable future collectibles
remain affordable. Now is your chance to pick this usable,
practical classic for a great deal! For more information on our
