Like the Camaro, the first-generation Firebird hit a high note in 1969, where a blend of styling, power and comfort created one of the best muscle cars of all time. The verdoro green with the black vinyl top offers a very aggressive look, a sweet-running 350 cubic inch V8 paired with a TH-400 automatic, and no excuses on the street.

The Firebird offers Pontiac's twin-nostril front end, accented in chrome on this model with the sharp fender creases that make the car look fast just sitting still. The verdoro green paint is this car's original color and it is the perfect color matched with the black interior. Even though it's not a trailer queen, this one looks fantastic sitting still, or hammering down the road. Gaps are good, all the panels line up well and it's the kind of car that people look at with a wary eye on the street because there's no telling what kind of firepower lies underneath. No extraneous add-ons were necessary, which means no wild graphics, no scoops on the hood and only a pair of subtle '350' emblems to give it away.

A black interior is a great choice with the green bodywork, and it appears that while the interior of this Firebird was replaced a few years ago, it's still in great condition. Bucket seats sit with an optional center console and the patterns are correct for '69, complete with the headrests, which were federally mandated starting in this year. The door panels are quite possibly original, but the black carpets are just too nice to be 47 years old but they do look period-correct. Pontiac tried to position the Firebird as an upscale alternative to the Camaro, so walnut inserts were used on the dash and console, and the gauges are simple and easy to read. The original AM radio is still outfitted in the dash and still plays. The trunk is also correctly finished with the correct mat.

A 350 cubic inch V8 was a perfect fit for the ‘69 Firebird. This Firebird came with a few luxuries such as power steering, power drum brakes and very cold factory air conditioning. Our team took it for an extensive drive to check the Firebird out and it passed with flying colors. They found no flaws or issues while driving and yes they loved the looks from the onlookers.

The ’69 Firebird came from a private collection and an easy life spent in the warm climate controlled garage, this is a Firebird you can buy with confidence and start enjoying immediately.
