You don't see a Red DeLorean everyday! That's because they're
aren't many, and even fewer that were painted by the delivering
dealer, have less than 2,000 original miles, and have all the
supporting original documentation, including the original one owner
Georgia title, original window sticker, original owners manual,
original sales brochure, and original "drive out" tag. These cars
are becoming increasingly collectible and are almost impossible to
find with this low milage and all the paperwork even near this
asking price.
The body design of the DMC-12 was a product of Giorgetto Giugiaro
of Ital Design and is paneled in brushed SS304 Stainless Steel.
Except for three cars plated in 24-Carat Gold, All DMC-12s left the
factory without paint or clearcoat. This is one of the very rare
stainless steel body and plastic bumper DeLoreans that was painted
by the selling dealer for promotional purposes. That dealer was Hub
Ford of Atlanta, GA, who proudly displayed the car in their
showroom after painting it. On August 4, 1987, the first owner,
James Tolleson (also from Atlanta) purchased the car with 232 miles
on the clock. The car was then driven occasionally for the next
twenty years but mainly remained the staple of a private
collection. With just 1,641 miles recorded in 2013, the owner did a
comprehensive restoration is excess of $20,000. All parts and
components were purchased from DeLorean Motor Company in Huble, TX.
Everything was overhauled at no expense spared.
Today, the car has 1,671 actual miles and comes from our local
clients esteemed collection. The original 2.8L V6 fires on command
and the car runs strong. Power is transferred smoothly through the
preferred 5-speed gearbox. All the original documentation has been
preserved, which has been cataloged on a professional poster
highlighting the car's history. This is an awesome vehicle and
worthy of any enthusiasts garage. This is an investment car that
will surely gain value over time. Be sure to check out all the
