A Prestigious History for One of the Most Desirable Corvettes Ever
Made
The 1967 Sting Ray Corvette Roadster before you today was assembled
in St. Louis on February 11th, 1967 and sold 16 days later at the
Mayville Motor Company in North Dakota at a sticker price of around
$4,800. It remained with the original owner until visiting New York
City with the 2nd owner in 1981, then later moving to New Mexico
and all the way to Hawaii in 1993. At each stop, this incredible
classic was lovingly cared for and maintained at the highest
possible standards. We have extensive documentation on file that we
will gladly share on request.
We do lose track of this '67 Chevy Stingray Convertible shortly
before the turn of the century, but it was pleasantly rediscovered
by a NCRS judge in 2004 inside a barn in Utah. Seeing that it was
numbers-matching and a complete example, he made an offer on the
spot and quickly brought it home with him to Carmel, California.
There it underwent a Concours-level frame off restoration from top
to bottom, including the restoration of the factory drivetrain to
outstanding levels. No expense was spared in this process and it
emerged as a like-new classic worthy of a museum.
Here's just some of the work completed during the restoration-
- Fully restored factory engine and transmission, Posi rear
end
- Rebuilt chassis, all correct ball joints cad plating, T-3's,
jack & tools
- Restored original alternator, regulator, starter, water
pump
- Restored all factory gauges, clock, wiper motor and headlight
motor
- Added new drive line and half shafts, new chrome
throughout
- Added Al Knoch interior and Al Knoch covert top
Winner of Two Concours d' Elegance "Best in Class" & Many Other
Awards
The current owner of this beautiful 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting
Ray Roadster informs us that it's a highly documented classic with
four lifetime owners. The exterior finish is mirror-like in
appearance across the beautiful flowing body. Combined with the
exceptional chrome bumpers and side mounted exhaust, this is one of
the most gorgeous original muscle cars that we've inspected in
years. The contrasting white soft top and the bolt-on wheels are
also in excellent condition, which is why this example took home
two "Best in Class" trophies last year at Concours d' Elegance
events. It will literally take your breath away.
Additionally, this beautiful 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray
Convertible has extensive documentation showing its originality
including the protecto plate, the tank sticker and countless
receipts from over the years. This outstanding roadster has been
restored at the highest possible levels once in its lifetime and
that clearly shows throughout the flawless interior. While you
could likely find an imperfection if you looked hard enough, most
collectors would consider this example perfect because they simply
don't get any better.
Out on the open road, this '67 Sting Ray performs exactly like
you'd expect a like-new roadster to accelerate, handle and stop.
The roar coming from the side pipes will put a smile on any
collector's face and this one really gets down the road in a hurry.
With an excellent ride quality it simply glides down the open road
with an air of authority.
Numbers-Matching with Extensive Paperwork on File
Overall, this beautiful 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray
Convertible is one of the nicest examples we've ever seen and it
simply gleams in the sun. This beautiful roadster is also an
excellent value at the current asking price and it will likely find
a new home quickly. It's extremely rare to find these types of
examples on the open market at all these days so you definitely
don't want to wait long before coming to see this spectacular
muscle car. For more information about this vehicle, visit our
