For Sale: 1974 Jensen-Healey MKII in Henderson, Nevada

Vehicle Description

The Jensen Healey and Jensen GT were built by Jensen Motors Ltd. of West Bromwich, England from March 1972 until May 1976. A little over 10,000 convertibles were manufactured during this time. Some of the last Jensens to roll out the doors were the Jensen GT ('76 model year) of which a scant 509 were produced. All Jensen Healey and Jensen GT automobiles came equipped with the brand-new 2 litre, 16-valve Lotus built 9.07 engine. Home market and European destination cars had twin 40mm Dellorto carburetors while U.S. Federal destination cars came with twin Stromberg carburetors. Jensen Motors numbered the JH starting at 10000 in 1972. 10000-13349 are Mark I cars. 13500-20504 are Mark II cars. 18900 + VINs also have the JH-5s mixed in. Jensen GT numbers started at 30000 in September '75. Only 7,142 MkII's and JH-5's were produced between August 1973 and August 1975.

There is no official VIN or month cut off for the JH5, earliest sightings are commission dates of Dec. '74. This car was built in Dec 1974 as can be seen on the VIN tag.
Being a convertible two-seater performance sports car from a prestige car builder the Jensen Healey scores highly as a collectible car.
Restoration and maintenance costs are comparatively low for such a rare car, with many parts being available as all the tooling and parts stock was bought from Jensen by a UK company.
The ubiquitous Lotus 907 engine also has plentiful supply of parts. The Lotus 1973cc DOHC, 16-vlve all-alloy engine came with dual side-draft single-throat CD175 Zenith Strombergs and a 5-speed manual transmission. Disc Brakes, alloy wheels, factory hard and soft top.

CONDITION:
Good running and driving car. It needs cosmetics. Atomic Motors rebuilt both carburetors, installed new timing belt, new fuel pump, new master cylinder, new turn signal indicator switch and lever, new horn stalk, new tires and all fluids.
