The iconic '57 Chevy is presented here, reimagined, updated and
fast! This wonderful two door post has been totally rebuilt and
engineered for daily use and speed! Starting underneath, a custom
build Art Morrison chassis was installed with double-wish bone
suspension and adjustable coil-over Stange shocks. Sway bars front
and rear. An aluminum fuel tank, big bore dual exhausts with
Magnaflow mufflers and all new wiring, lines and switchgear
complete the underside. The engine is a Chevy Z06 LS6 rated at
505HP but when new, this motor was sent to Huetter in Ohio for a
full balancing and blueprinting. A Tremec T156 6-speed handles the
power and sends it to a Ford 9-inch rear end with 4:11 gears and a
quad link set up. This results in a powerful and extremely useable
combination. The body is all '57 Chevy with triple plated chrome
flawlessly fitted with a bunch of one off custom touches. The '57
is painted in Galactic Black from the Mercedes-Benz SLR AMG. The
front bumper is a unique sculpture combining a '57 Chevy bumper
with a '57 Desoto, hundreds of hours to design, make and weld this
"piece unique". The rockets on the hood removed, the quarter vent
windows removed, shaved door handles as well as the rain gutters
removed make this a very smooth design that is stealth-like in its
execution. The aluminum fender wings are single piece engine turned
one-off pieces that also match the front fender accents and inside
trim. The interior is trimmed in Porsche Carrera GT terracotta
leather, a custom Reus soundsystem and new-style full electronics
and gauges. This car was a labor of love and a result of the owner
having built so many cars previously that were either show cars and
not drivable or the other way around...this custom '57 Chevy is the
combination of both...a show car that is a perfectly designed
driver.
