Vehicle Description
Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1961 Facel
Vega HK500 in its factory correct color of Brunswick Blue with Red
interior with Blue piping. According to a factory production log
chassis HK1 BR6X was originally delivered to the US and sold by
Peter Satori the well-known retailer based in Pasadena California.
An anecdote from the second owner suggests the car mayhave
originally been sold to Franks Sinatra's Reprise Records though
this account is uncorroborated. Period registration records confirm
that the HK500 was acquired in 1970 by Gabriel Estrada of Los
Angeles who drove the car minimally for six years before storing it
until 2010.The Facel Vega was treated to a comprehensive
restoration including a rebuildof the engine and transmission. A
new aluminum radiator was installed and a completechassis
refurbishment was conducted followed by a full repaint. Subtle
upgrades were implemented with duel-circuit power brakes power
windows. Alsorecently equipped with modern A/C.
Desirablyequipped with the rare duel carburetor intake and a
Facel-specific Nardisteering wheel this beautiful HK500 has
recently won awards at several California concours d'elegance. Just
recently had a $25k freshen up at Winning Makes in Santa Barbara.
The paint has a few issues with cracking mainly the hood the trunk
and the area surrounding the trunk. In my estimation $5k would
amply cover the paint correction. Comes with its original fitted
luggage photos of the 2010 restoration and receipt for the $22k
freshen up. This is a great example of one of France's most
celebrated postwar grand tourers. Inspections encouraged. All sales
AS-IS. Sales tax and license fees due if delivered in California.
