Have you ever closed your eyes and thought about what it'd be like
to cruise around in the nicest '62 Impala Convertible to ever run
the roads? Well think no more. The moment you lay your eyes on this
Alloway built 1962 Impala Convertible you won't be able to think of
anything else. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the best
built vehicles on the road today!! This is a Sema Feature Car,
Goodguys Builder Choice winner, and a top 25 Shades of the past
car. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description
of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of this Chevrolet, but
first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee.
We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no
consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You
can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a
big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So,
that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us
for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at
(865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of this '62. There's no denying
the quality of craftsmanship that went into building this beauty.
When you walk around it you will see that all the body panels,
doors, hood, and trunk have a near perfect fit along with all the
gaps being even and symmetrical. The body lines on this Chevy are
some of the best designed and as you can see they flow beautifully
from the front to the back. The body is covered in the Brilliant
Silver base coat clear coat paint that has been buffed and polished
to a mirror finish that's slick as a ribbon. It's accented by all
that iconic Chrome and Stainless of the '60's and every piece is
like new. Also, you'll notice it has the black convertible top that
is Power. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of 1 Off
Wheels built for Mr. Alloway by Billet Specialties. They are a
solid 1-piece Aluminum Wheel with 17x7's on the front and 20x10's
on the rear along with Red Line Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this Impala. On the inside it
has a Pro Auto Custom interior done by Steve Holcomb. This Lipstick
Red Leather interior combination is the perfect complement to the
brilliant silver exterior paint scheme. The custom done seats and
door panels are a perfect blend of the classic style's of the '60s
and modern inspiration. You'll also notice the Corvette styled
floor shifter for the five-speed trans. Looking at the dash, you'll
see the white face gauges from Classic Instruments, and yes it has
the knee knocker tach as well. The sound system has been upgraded
as well and the controls are in the console with the deck unit
hidden in the trunk. Of course, this Impala also comes with Vintage
AC that operates off the factory controls location. In the trunk it
has the matching Daytona Weave carpet with custom panels that keeps
everything neat and clean.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevy. Under the hood
it features a Keasler Built 502 engine that's set up with aluminum
heads and custom W Valve covers with the 409 Callouts. For
injection you have an MSD Atomic EFI and of course the "409" air
cleaner. The engine bay is a masterpiece of its own featuring a
Vintage Air Front Runner along with a Steve Long Radiator and
Cooling Components fan. Along with AC you also have Wilwood Four
Wheel Power Disc Brakes and Power Rack and Pinon Steering. For
exhaust it has Sanderson Headers with Barrillaro Speed exhaust and
Flow Master Mufflers. When you look under this '62 you're going to
fall in love all over again. It features an Art Morrison
independent front clip and the X frame that's far from standard GM
Issue. This Impala has four corner coil overs, Tubular controls
arms, and a number of custom fabrications from Alloways Rod Shop.
This 502 engine puts power to the ground via the Five Speed Trans,
Custom Driveshaft, and the Currie 9" with 4.11 gears.
