The market value for these 356 Replica's has been on the rise for several years with no end in sight...they are a tremendous value and super fun to drive! This gorgeous Burgundy Metallic Speedster replica was built by JPS Motorsports in 2013 and has just over 7900 miles on the super strong, built 2110 cc motor that has about 125 hp. JPS is known for high quality builds and they actually buy their bodies from Vintage Speedster. This particular 356 replica has had 2 owners. Previous owner had it for 3 years and was getting up in age and could no longer get in and out of it comfortably so he decided to let it go to the next lucky owner, maybe you??!!! He used to own several real 356's and did some racing in his day and he said that this car was actually nicer and faster than the original ones he used to race. I will do my best to provide you with enough images, a video so you can hear it running, and an honest description to help you decide if this is the one for you. The paint and body are in fantastic condition. While JPS does not produce as many units as some of the other builders they are known to focus on quality and I am very impressed with this car. Body is extremely straight. Panel fit is top notch and doors open and shut like a newer Porsche. All of the chrome trim and badging looks great. Overall the body is in beautiful condition with just a few minor paint chips that I noticed that I will have touched up. There is also a scratch behind the passenger real well that has been touched up. Overall, it looks fantastic and is definitely ready for the shows and cruise-ins if that is what you enjoy!
Interior is a beautiful Tan color that accentuates the Burgundy metallic exterior very nicely. Seats are leather and show no wear. Door panels and dash look close to new. Previous owner used velcro and put black rubber mats over the carpeted mats and foot rest areas to prevent wear. This Speedster has 3-point seat belts for driver and optional lap belt for driver. Gauges and lights all appear to be working correctly. Nice Pioneer am/fm/CD stereo with aux jack for your music as well with speakers neatly mounted in the front kick panel areas. There is also a small custom glove box to store your paperwork. Interior is in near new condition.
The way to enjoy this speedster is top down but also nice to know that it does have a beautiful tan soft top when needed with window inserts. When the top is down you have the option of a small boot to cover the top or a full length Tonneau cover that zips out for the driver or zip it up if you are parking it for a while.
This Speedster is not just fun to look at, she is even more fun to drive!!!! This one was ordered with the upgraded 2110 cc dual port motor that was nicely built to put out approx. 125 hp. The motor has a stroker crank counterweighted and balanced, mahle pistons, nice cam, lightweight flywheel and the bigger dual barrel 44mm weber carburetors. Most of your Speedster builds have about 75-85 hp so this motor really steps it up nicely but is still a great little cruiser. JPS also uses 4 wheel disc brakes on their builds which helps stop this lightweight sports car with ease. Front suspension is fully adjustable twin torsion I-beam and rear suspension has torsion bar with swing axle and adjustable spring plates. This Speedster handles the turns like it is on rails and is very easy to handle. JPS mates a tubular steel chassis to a VW pan and of course the undercarriage is rock solid and looks like new. This hot little motor breathes out the Carrera stainless steel Stinger exhaust with a nice exhaust note. Short throw shifter on this 4-speed and the 3.88 Freeway flyer transmission for comfortable rpm's at highway speeds. Beautiful 15" wheels with the Porsche emblem hub caps and close to new set of Kumho radials. Just received a complete tune up and oil change and is ready to drive and enjoy!!! This replica is titled as a 1974 Porsche as that is the year VW pan is was built on. The vin # is stamped on the car between the seats and matches the title. Make sure you leave a little extra time to answer all the questions people will be throwing out at you. It will be up to you if you want to tell them it's a replica. Most people would never know!!
