Introduced in April of 1964, the Ford Mustang is the most
recognized American Muscle Car and has spurned generations of car
enthusiasts. The stunning design, vast options lists and various
performance options made the Mustang an instant hit and one that
would withstand the test of time.
Offered in several configurations, the Fastback 2+2 with the
optional GT Equipment Package is highly regarded and sought after.
The Mustang GT version was introduced as the "GT Equipment Package"
and included a V8 engine, grille-mounted fog lamps, rocker panel
stripes, and disc brakes. In the interior, the GT option added a
different instrument panel that included a speedometer, fuel gauge,
temp. gauge, and oil pressure gauge.
This is a beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang GT that has underwent a
complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. It was restored to
its original Factory color called "Vintage Burgundy" and appears as
it did rolling off the assembly line in 1966. The motor is the
original 289 4V with the matching 4 speed with 83,074 original
miles.
The restoration is very accurate down to the red oxide painted on
the under carriage. Everything has been rebuilt and or replaced.
The original carburetor, manifold, and water pump have been
replaced with high performance Edelbrock manifold, Holly
carburetor, and high performance Edelbrock water pump. All of the
original equipment will be included with the car.
The restoration is fully documented with an enormous amount of
receipts and correspondence detailing the process. In addition,
original Ford dealer brochures, owner's manual, and specification
manual are included. A reproduction window sticker is also
available detailing the options list on this amazing vehicle. This
is an absolutely stunning Mustang that sounds and drives
amazingly.
