Traveling only 2.850 miles since a professional, frame-off restoration from 2013 this Impala is one of the most desirable Chevrolets ever produced. Equipped with the Tri-Power 348/280 HP V-8, the original 2-speed Powerglide automatic has been upgraded to the 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive, providing much more confident, relaxed cruising. This convertible also features factory air conditioning, power windows, power front discs brakes and power steering. It even has the desirable continental kit, fender skirts, Wonderbar radio and unique Tri-Tone interior. The Tropic Turquoise paint contrasts beautifully with the interior and white top creating a stunning visual commanded by very few automobiles. As should be the case with a proper restoration, the entire suspension has been restored and ensures a fabulous ride along favorite roads. Drop the top, tune in the radio and hit the roads; the three 2-barrel carburetors easily opens up for more power delivery as needed, and the transmission shifts cleanly allowing the engine to spin more freely and glean along the highway. This was a one-year-only body style for Chevrolet, 1959 ushering in the more elongated, lower, boxier look, making this the last of the Chevrolets featuring that classic, true 1950s design. The chrome, stainless and aluminum trim sparkle and reflect like a mirror, and the paint shines and shows exceptional depth—the entire presentation is beyond reproach. This is a great opportunity to acquire a truly desirable Chevrolet convertible that is also ready to stretch its legs. Many agree the 1958 was one of Chevrolet's most elegantly styled and proportioned cars—the length, width and height balanced well with the brightwork, quad headlights and full-width grille. It was, once again, a baby Cadillac, but growing ever closer to the “Wreath and Crest” cars without the lofty price tag. Chevrolet struck a chord with the buying public in 1958 with 55,989 convertibles produced, up from 1957 which saw 47,562 built. Today, the 1958 Impala, especially a convertible with Tri-Power, has huge collector interest and a huge fan following.
