1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 HO with original matching-numbers
high-performance 400/335hp engine backed by a 3-speed Hydramatic
automatic transmission and posi-traction rear axle. It is finished
in Primavera Beige with a gold interior and a gold vinyl top. Only
684 400 HO automatics were built with the YW code. Built in the
U.S. and sold new in Victoria, British Colombia, the vehicle was
ordered with over 30 options, including a deluxe interior, custom
AM/8-track radio, front and rear speakers, rear-mounted antenna,
hood-mounted tachometer, Rally gauge cluster, fold-down rear seat,
console, custom front and rear seatbelts, sport steering wheel with
tilt, remote sideview mirrors, exhaust extensions, power steering
and brakes, custom wood interior trim, dealer-added Ram Air hood
and rear defroster. The vehicle has a Pontiac Historic Services
paperwork, original warranty book, Bill of Sale and
Protect-O-Plate. It has all-original sheet metal, glass and vinyl
top. The car has had a professional partial repaint in the original
color during its life. The car won first place at the 2017 World of
Wheels in Boston, MA, in the restored 1968-1972 category. It has
been well cared for and is in excellent condition.
