Vehicle Description
This 1948 Ford F-series pickup was purchased new in 1948 and was
used on a 55-acre farm in South Glastonbury, CT, to pick up needed
farm materials and deliver produce to be sold at the local and
regional farmer's markets. In 1974 the truck was retired and put
into storage in one of the buildings on the farm. It sat there
until 2000, when the original owner's son transported it to
Vermont, where it underwent a 2-year complete mechanical and body
restoration. After its completion is was trailered back to
Connecticut, where it was used to attend and show in local cruise
nights and car shows in the area. This restored pickup is powered
by a completely rebuilt 226ci 6-cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed
manual transmission. It features a new interior, new running gear,
a period-correct Ford Green finish and its original 6-volt
electrical system.
