Vehicle Description
From boulevard cruising to backroad bruising, it's hard to find a
better all-around performer than a Corvette. And once Chevrolet
firmly established the brand as a global tour de force, it began a
constant quest to achieve increasing levels of performance and
desirability. No generation of Corvette emphasizes the transition
from muscle car to all-out sports car better than the C3. And this
awesome drop-top, featuring a stalwart 350/3-speed drivetrain, is a
whole lot of car for not a lot of money. If you're in the market
for a cool classic that'll hold its own at the cruise night and the
stoplight, take a look at this awesome Chevy!
APPEARANCE
Assembled at GM's storied St. Louis manufacturing facility, and
restored as needed, this voluptuous Vette glows in correct Ontario
Orange pigment. The foundation for that vibrant paint is a solid
fiberglass body that presents well and, by the looks of things, has
never been heavily damaged or received any major modifications.
That composite is detailed in correct trim and bright White canvas.
And today, this clean Chevy rolls as one high quality,
well-maintained classic that's great to drive and fun to look
at!
POWER
Jump behind the wheel and you'll command 350 cubic inches of buff
Chevy small block that's been painted, polished and fully rebuilt.
A dual-snorkel air cleaner balances a polished and decaled lid on a
big Rochester Quadrajet. That carb feeds a factory intake, which
rides between painted valve covers that are finished with polished
tabs and a polished oil cap. Behind that cap, chrome-cased ignition
sequences spark through pliable plug wires. Those wires snake
around cast iron exhaust manifolds. At the front of those tubes,
traditional V-belts spin factory power steering beneath an old
school Frigidaire compressor. At the front of those ancillaries,
coolant laps a shrouded, Gloss Black radiator. And, believed to be
largely original, this Vette's satin engine bay provides an
excellent backdrop for the Chevy Orange motor.
DRIVABILITY
Peer under this low-slung beast and you'll find a Satin Black
chassis that's straight and solid. Behind the reliable small block,
a tough Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed twists torque through an "AW"
stamped differential. Beneath that drivetrain, a rebuilt suspension
combines power-assisted steering with tight turns and increased
grip. In the middle of the car, true-dual exhaust pipes spent gases
through throaty Xlerator mufflers and polished stainless tips. At
the corners of the car, factory discs ensure quick, drama-free
stops. And all that fully sorted hardware rolls on handsome Rally
Wheels, which spin 235/60R15 BF Goodrich radial T/As around
polished trim rings and turbine center caps.
COMFORT
Open the car's sculpted doors and you'll find a correct Saddle
interior that's believed to be largely original equipment. At the
center of that cockpit, tall bucket seats stretch tight vinyl hides
under color-keyed lap belts. Between those seats, an angled console
centers a traditional chrome shifter amid clean, color-keyed floor
mats. Opposite that console, wood-trimmed side panels point
stainless handles at the base of a crack-free dash. That dash
frames factory telemetry above factory climate control and a
familiar Delco AM/FM radio. And the driver traces the road with a
tilt and telescopic steering wheel.
With its confident V8 and head-turning aesthetics, there's no
question this Corvette is both fun AND desirable. If you're looking
for an impressive classic that you can enjoy every chance you get,
grab this sweet C3 and transform your weekends from boring to an
absolute blast!
