Vehicle Description
This matching-numbers 1967 GTO underwent a multi-year frame-off
nut-and-bolt restoration and has less than 200 miles since its
completion. It has PHS paperwork and was the recipient of the 2013
Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals Concours Gold Award and 2014 GTOAA
National Concours Gold Award. The current owner purchased this car
in 1976 and commissioned its professional restoration in 2010. No
detail was overlooked and great lengths were taken to create a
factory authentic restoration. The laser-straight GTO body and
frame were completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal and
painstakingly refinished in correct Starlight Black paint using a
modern PPG base coat/clear coat system. The original
matching-numbers 400ci 8-cylinder engine and 4-speed wide-ratio
manual transmission were disassembled and refurbished. In addition
to a rebuild guided by factory specs, the engine received hardened
valve seats for the use of unleaded fuel. This GTO is also equipped
with the correct 3.55 Safe-T-Track rear axle and power steering.
The original front power disc brake calipers were refurbished and
reinstalled, and the wire disc wheel covers were restored, packaged
and stored in the trunk as-delivered to the dealer by Pontiac. The
interior features bucket seats, console, AM push-button radio and
Rally gauge cluster with tachometer. All of the interior components
were carefully returned to factory-correct status. The car has
correct Gardner dual exhaust, date-coded SoftRay tinted glass and
decals. It also has new wiring harnesses. The original instruments
and gauges were checked for operation and restored to factory
condition. The restoration of this GTO is factory-correct,
including the headlamps, original seat belts and reproduction
Firestone white line oval tires. The car comes with items such as
PHS paperwork, Pontiac Motor Division Window Sticker, owner's
manual and restoration photos.
