Vehicle Description
This historically significant Hennessey Viper was once the fastest
stock-tired car ever tested by Motor Trend magazine (December
2004). It was the first Viper SRT-10 to run a quarter-mile in the
10s, and it was the first third-generation Hennessey Venom 650R. It
was purchased new by John Myrick, winner of One Lap America in
2003, and it was he who drove the car for Motor Trend magazine
during their testing; he is credited on Dragtimes.com for the 3rd
Gen Venom 650R Quarter-Mile times that he achieved that day. Motor
Trend raced the car and clocked it at 0-60 in 2.99 seconds and a
quarter-mile time of 10.76 seconds at 131 mph on stock tires. Then
they raced it 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and a quarter-mile of 10.44
seconds at 135mph on slicks. Achieving this power is an 8.4-liter
V10 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The car has less
than 15,000 actual miles and is black on black with a cloth
retractable roof. It has been garage-kept and includes the original
Dodge owner's manual, factory car cover, all Hennessey 650R package
spec sheets (including dyno pulls), and two copies of the 2004
volume of Motor Trend magazine, in which the car was tested. The
radio does work, but there is no output. The tires on the vehicle
are all original. CARFAX shows FCA US LLC manufacturer safety
recall opened on 02/06/2015: ORC module.
