Vehicle Description
We see a lot of vehicles roll through our showroom in various
stages of condition, but the ones that always seem to show up in
the best condition are the ones that come with only 1 owner or
maybe 1-family owned. These vehicles always seem to show a ton of
pride of ownership and very often aren't molested and are
borderline time-capsules. Case in point, this gorgeous 1972
Oldsmobile Cutlass 2 door hardtop.
What's unique is this Oldsmobile has never been offered for sale
since 1972! Originally bought new in Charleston, West Virginia,
This awesome car only changed hands once in 1993 when the son of
the original buyer decided to take it off of his father's hands and
restore it to his former glory. The beneficiary of a full frame off
restoration, today this '72 is in incredible condition and received
a nearly 5-year restoration that was finished in 2004.
The restoration included a full engine, tranny and rear-end
overhaul. The original numbers matching engine was built with a
pretty stock build beyond the addition of hardened valve seats and
a mild cam. The original transmission was replaced with a TH350 and
received a shift kit. The rear gear was pulled as well and replaced
with a new auburn 3.73 posi and new axles. All of the mechanical
work was performed by professionals in North Carolina.
The body had some minor rust in your typical spots so the owner
replaced the front fenders, deck lid and patched the lower
quarters. From there, the body was professionally shot in the
correct Nordic Blue paint color and a new black vinyl roof was
added. Take a look at the underside, you'll see this isn't your
typically cut up classic car. This Olds has been baby'd its entire
life and today looks incredible from the bottom side. Not to
mention all new suspension was thrown on the car on both the front
and rear.
Inside you'll find a brand new interior from the folks at Year one
with new seat covers, new foam and an upgraded AM/FM/CD player on
the dash. From the inside everything works the way it's suppose to
including the ice cold A/C that has already been converted to R134
and all the gauges. You'll also see the his and her shifter, tilt
wheel and new dash pad that really gives it an authentic 70's
feel.
It's not too often that cars like this pop up, 1-family owned,
original numbers matching engine, and extremely solid and cared
for. What else could you want? Don't miss your chance to own this
