For Sale: 1965 Ford Mustang in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Yes, this 1965 Ford Mustang is truly as cool as it looks and sounds. After all, when you add a supercharger to a performance-built 302 V8, update every square inch (including the suspension,) and then paint the whole project in a slick metallic blue, you are going to create one of the most unique and powerful first-generation Mustangs around.

It's ok to say "WOW!", because everyone else will, too. This full custom build is part of a rotisserie restoration completed in 2012, and the car has gone less than 1,500 miles since then. The investment in the deep metallic blue and all that clear coat is worth the price alone. Once you get this coupe out in the sunlight, it will radiate color to outshine just about any other classic around it. But don't get too focused on the paint, or you might miss some fantastic details. For example, the bumpers have been polished so they can rival the blue for shine. Plus, this coupe has plenty of cool upgrades that keep the Mustang's iconic heritage in mind. For example, the triple-rocker stripe is a great GT touch. And the first few years of the GT350s inspired the grille with offset Mustang emblem and the hood with dual air scoops. But elements like the Supercharged silver rear panel with custom taillight enclosures and the large 18-inch US Mags wheels are clear indication that this classic is blazing its own path, too.

Inside this one has all the right premium and performance upgrades. It starts with a set of Procar bucket seats that offer superior modern bolstering and even the Mustang pony logo stitched into the leather seatback. You've got some great comfort features like the tall center armrest w/cup holders, power steering, and AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth and a large display for satellite navigation. There are even provisions for air conditioning. But this custom coupe is far from just a coddler - after all, there's Carroll Shelby signature on the glovebox. Your right hand will instantly be attracted to the B&M Pro Stick shifter, and your left one gets a grippy sports steering wheel. Beyond that is a full set of AutoMeter gauges, including that important boost one on the A-pillar.

While you already have seen some great investments in this car, we know the moment you pop the hood, you'll see your favorite. That shiny Weiand 174 supercharger looks great, and more importantly, it gives this a serious upgrade in muscle (estimated at about 500hp.) With the ability to dial-in some serious power, the rest of the V8 was fortified and enhanced to give the best in all-around performance. It starts with a Dart Iron Eagle 302 Short block ($8,500 alone), this was built with Dart Aluminum heads, Ford Racing crankshaft, Clevite 77 rods, Clevite main bearings, I-beam connecting rods w/ARP bolts, heavy duty forged flat top pistons, Cloyes three-piece true double roller timing set, custom performance camshaft, chrome moly pushrods, March serpentine system, MSD ignition, and topped with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. There are plenty more upgrades to list, but we just simply don't have the room to tell you all about this awesome motor here (give us a call and we'll go through it all!) Just know the moment the dual exhaust gives a rumble and the supercharger produces its buzz, this will be a truly awesome experience that you and everyone within earshot won't forget. Making sure you've got complete control over this total power package is a four-speed AOD transmission that has been built for this power - including a shift kit and manual mode. Don't forget to check out the undercarriage photos. There you'll see terrific upgrades like the TCI Mustang II-style front end with tubular control arms and ultra-strong the TCI three-link torque arm rear. Plus, you have adjustable coilovers and disc brakes behind each wheel to compete this total control package.

We have restoration photos and a ton of receipts totaling over $80k invested in this build. So you know this is the kind of deal that only comes around once in a lifetime. How cool is it to drive a fully-built supercharged '65 Mustang? You'll never know unless you call today!
