date codes are correct as this 1959 Chevrolet decodes as being
built in the 1st week of 1958, 283 V8, Borg Warner 4-speed, 3:70
limited slip rear end with radio delete. This Corvette has received
Top Flight award from the National Corvette Restorers Society
(NCRS). This award was created by NCRS in 1974 to recognize cars
that have been preserved or restored to the highest level of
achievement through the NCRS Flight Judging Process. In other word
only the best of the best can achieve this award. To attain this
highest of high awards, this 1959 Corvette has gone through a
complete restoration. Every surface has been stripped clean,
refurbished and then repainted. All the gaskets, seals, bearings
and the wiring has been replaced. The numbers matching 283 CID V8
engine with dual carburetors (rated at 270 HP) has been completely
rebuilt. The matching Borg Warner manual 4-speed transmission and
3:70 geared rear end have also been completely rebuilt. A quick
peek under the hood is just not enough. With the attention to
detail, this gorgeous Corvette looks just like it would have in
1959, right down to the radio delete option. That's right, this is
a no frills American Sports car and in 1959 it was all about speed.
The interior is all new with the original instrumentation (gauges)
being rebuilt with new faces, hands and lenses. All the glass is
new and it has been date coded to match the build date as well.
