Vehicle Description
In 2001 Chevrolet reintroduced the Z06 Corvette, Z06 having briefly
appeared on the scene in 1963 as a race-ready upgrade package of
suspension and braking. Likewise, the 2001 Z06 includes upgrades to
the stiffer FE4 suspension, Active Handling and functional brake
cooling ducts, but also boosts the power to 385 hp and drops the
weight to 3,118 pounds, 38 pounds lighter than a standard C5
hardtop. The 2001 Z06 outperforms the previous era's ZR-1 Corvettes
in every category except top speed.
As impressive as all that is, this Corvette Z06 has been
supercharged with a ProCharger D-1 blower that increases the power
to more than 500 ponies! SLP headers and a full exhaust system let
those horses run free. The power reaches the ground through a
manual six-speed transmission, beefy aluminum alloy driveshaft, and
18" aluminum wheels shod with 335/40Z rated tires.
Black outside, black inside, less than 7,500 miles. But but you
really just want to know what it's like to drive. Freaky fast,
okay? Scary, twitchy, wow, gulp, whew, that was awesome! Let's do
it again!
The Chevrolet Corvette has been America's favorite homegrown sports
car for fifty years, and this 2001 Z06, already the ultimate in
high performance design, has been pushed to extremes. If you want
to blow the doors off the guy in the next lane, this is how you do
it. Call Art & Speed at (901) 850-0507.
