1983 Ferrari 512BBI For Sale - 460 Original Miles From New, Time
Capsule LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1983 Ferrari
512BBI. Ferrari chose to introduce the 512 BBi, their newest
Berlinetta Boxer model for the first time at the 1981 Frankfurt
Auto Show. Although largely similar to the outgoing 512 BB, the
major change in this new model was the replacement of the previous
model's carburetors with the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel-injection
system, hence the "i" in its nomenclature. The fuel injection
system produced cleaner emissions, offered a better balance of
performance and daily-driver reliability with much less maintenance
than the previous carburetor system. The BBi proved to be vastly
more user-friendly with its easy starting and smooth-running
characteristics, making daily driving both fast and relatively
effortless. The 512 BBi remains one of the best road going
Ferrari's thanks to the impressive torque curve from the flat-12
engine and is generally considered to be the most civilized,
drivable and reliable of Ferrari's Berlinetta Boxers. This
particular 512 BBI was manufactured by Ferrari at its Maranello
Plant the first half of 1983 as a left-hand drive (LHD) Euro
specification vehicle. It was then imported to the United States by
Ferrari Compliance Inc. in Santa Ana, California on July 8th, 1983.
Factory finished in the timeless combination of Rosso Corsa paint
and optional all leather Beige Interior. It was sold new on
December 21, 1983 after completion of the "Federalization" to the
first owner in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car was then sold by the
original owner in 1986 with only 54 miles on the odometer. The
meticulous second owner has had the car in climate control storage
for over 32 years and has only put 400 miles on the odometer in
that period. The car is in immaculate original, showroom condition
and looks like the day it left the factory. It still wears its
original Michelin TRX tires that it came with from the factory.
This milestone Ferrari 512BB has become a true blue-chip classic,
one whose value and prestige will only grow in the years to come.
Recently just had a complete major service done by Ferrari in June
2018. Between the car's ownership history, color combination,
originality and condition make this is certainly one of the best
