Vehicle Description

1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Original, unmolested survivor Corvette Documented 10,000 miles since new; handwritten fuel logbook from day purchased until January 2018 L48 350 CID V-8 engine Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission Classic White exterior (code 10) and rare Blue-green Leather interior (code 322). This interior color was only offered in 1976 and 1979 One of 10,674 Corvettes made in Classic White in 1976 T-tops removable roof panels (previous owner claims they've never been off the car) Documentation includes original window sticker, original dealer invoice and binder full of maintenance and repair receipts More than 40 years later, it is harder and harder to find a survivor Corvette reportedly with less than 11,000 miles on the clock but we have one here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. This particular example was made in GM's Saint Louis, Missouri factory on October 21, 1975 and delivered to Markley Motors, Inc., a Chevrolet dealer in Danielson, Connecticut. This car left the assembly plant with the following options: gymkhana suspension (code FE7), power brakes (code J50), automatic transmission (code M40), tilt-telescopic steering column (code N37), power steering (code N40), heavy-duty battery (code UA1), map light (code UF1) and AM/FM stereo (code U58). The original owner purchased the car on November 15, 1975. The car's Classic White (code 10) paint and trim are in overall great condition. . The car's glass panels are clear and intact while its lights are haze-free and intact. The car's bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is tidy and the bumpers fit well to the body. This Corvette rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, each one surrounding a Rally, or turbine style, wheel. The wheels look good while the tires are in very good order. Under the forward-hinged hood is a L48 350 CID V-8 engine with a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and High-Energy Ignition (HEI) bolted to a Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features included power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, Inside, the car has a unique leather upholstery color, blue-green (code 322), that was only offered in 1976 and 1979. The bucket seats are in great condition, as is the black carpet beneath the driver's feet. The car's headliner also looks great. The four-spoke "Rally" steering wheel is in satisfactory condition while the inner door panels and instrument panel are in very good order. The instrument panel has a full array of gauges in the center stack. The center console and shift lever are in decent condition. Completing the interior is a factory AM/FM stereo. Nineteen seventy-six models featured steel floor panels shielding the catalytic converter exhaust. These steel floor panels weighed less than the previousfiberglassfloor and reduced interior noise levels. To further reduce cabin noise levels, cowl induction was dropped in favor of the air cleaner ducted over the radiator, picking up outside air from the front of the car, thus reducing wind turbulence at the base of the windshield. The hood was carried over, with its cowl vent grille and induction system opening becoming non-functional. The optional cast Kelsey-Hayes aluminum wheels were finally made available, which reduced the unsprung weight of the car by 32pounds. Nearly 15 percent of the cars were ordered with the new wheels at a cost of $299. A standard steel rim spare was used. This was the last year for optional white striped tires, as 86 percent of the cars were being delivered with the optional white lettered tires.A new rear nameplate for the rear bumper cover was introduced, eliminating the individual "Corvette" letters used since 1968. An unwelcome change was the "Vega GT" four-spoke steering wheel, although its smaller diameter did provide extra room and eased entry/exit. The steering wheel, color-keyed to the interior, continued on 1977 through 1979 models, limited to non-tilt wheel cars only. GM's "Freedom" battery, a new sealed and maintenance-free unit, was now installed in all cars. The rear window defroster option was changed from the forced-air type of previous years to the new "Electro-Clear" defogger, an in-glass heated element type.Even without a convertible model, the Corvette still set new sales records. Car and Driverrecorded 6.8second 0-60 times in both L-48 and L-82 4-speed equipped 1976 Corvettes. The magazine ordered an L-48 4-speed for a 4,000-mile road trip to Alaska.C&Dsummarized: "The Corvette was a big hit-we expected and thoroughly enjoyed that-but we were surprised at how well it withstood the ordeal...once we recovered from the trip we conceded that we'd developed new respect for a car we'd long regarded as something of a put on. In every sense of the word, our Yukon Corvette proved to betoughand we'd have to say that even the production versions impressed us as coming closer to being real touring cars than we might ever have thought. There's a lot more sincere ring now to our stock answer to the question, 'Why a Corvette?'" Documentation includes original window sticker, original dealer invoice, consumer and warranty information and a binder full of maintenance and repair receipts. In the logbook, the first entry was from April 16, 1976, when he filled the car with 8.7 gallons of fuel with 64 miles on the odometer. The final entry was from January 25, 2018, when he put in 5.83 gallons of gas at 10,939 miles. Competition to this Corvette in 1976 included the Avanti II, Datsun's 280Z, Jaguar XJ-S and Mercedes-Benz's 350/450 SL. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 10,948 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR YOUTUBE VIDEO!!!
