Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1966 Porsche 912
non-sunroof coupe. This 912 has been in Atlanta for many years and
we completed some service and light cosmetic restoration work for
the current owner a few years ago, so it's a car we have known for
quite some time. Serial number 454935 indicates an early 1966
Karmann-built car and this example retains many early bits
including the concave door handle buttons, green-faced three-gauge
dash, period (non-working) Blaupunkt and desirable wood steering
wheel.
The older driver repaint and color change from light ivory to
guards red is attractive enough but shows some flaws. Recent front
seat upholstery and padding, H4 headlights, tires. Many new rubbers
and body trim pieces. Runs and drives well - desirable Solex carbs
with original air boxes and five-speed transmission.
The driver's side floors were replaced many years ago with
non-stock sheet metal; there is rust in the passenger side floors
and also in the torsion bar areas. Front suspension pan has been
replaced with correct sheet metal and is solid. Matching spare
wheel and factory jack included. Ready to be driven as-is and would
be a fun car for weekend touring or to take to cars and coffee - or
an excellent starting point to take to the next level.
