One of the most famous of all Mustangs is known as 'Eleanor', the
Shelby GT500 that starred in the 1974 B-film 'Gone in Sixty
Seconds', which was remade in 2000 with Nicholas Cage. The movie
also made the name Eleanor synonymous with every '67 Shelby GT500.
You can't see one today without immediately identifying it with the
movie. It also made these silver '67 beasts some of the most
sought-after rides of all time. When you look at one up close like
this Eleanor, it's very easy to see why so many car enthusiasts
have this year and model down as their favorite of all time. Most
muscle car enthusiasts can agree that Carroll Shelby introduced
some of the coolest and most aggressive Mustangs ever created. To
create the new Eleanor, they drew inspiration from his designs in
order to create the greatest modern interpretation. This Eleanor
has been finished in Raven Black with a Red center and GT500E tape
stripe. The Interior has been redone with factory style black
carpet, door panels, headliner and the addition of some modern Scat
Pro Rally seats with Carroll Shelby's signature embroidered in the
headrests. To finish off the interior is a Shelby steering wheel
and unique Shelby Autometer gauges. Additional exterior details
include chrome door handles, functional flip up fuel filler, and
fender mounted "Shelby GT500" emblems. � Lift the unique fiberglass
hood on this beautiful machine and you'll find the powerful small
block Ford Engine backed by a 5-speed manual transmission. At the
top of the engine you'll find period correct Cobra air filter
resting on a 750cfm 4-barrel Holley carburetor. The spark reaches
the cylinder thanks to the MSD ignition and MSD distributor. From
there the spent gasses travel through Hooker ceramic coated headers
then enter into a Magnaflow side exhaust. To stop the added power,
the braking system has been upgraded with four-wheel disk brakes.
The suspension boasts Total Control Products Front Suspension with
TCP power rack and pinion steering. To finish out the performance
package are a set of 17-inch Halibrand wheels and modern radial
tires. The resulting handling experience ensures that this Mustang
can corner effectively at speed. The Ford Mustang Eleanor is by far
one of the greatest looking Mustangs around. Combine that with an
upgraded drivetrain and suspension to create an ultimate muscle
