For sale in our Milwaukee showroom is this heavily hot-rodded 1951
Mercury Coupe. The 51 Mercury was the end of an era for the Mercury
Eight series of vehicles. The last generation to share the name
sake, the 1949-1951 was the first post war car for the company and
was a success to say the least. The curvaceous lines on these cars
are of the most iconic cars to come out of Detroit - as iconic as
anything that emerged from the industry's immediate postwar
reawakening and those from 1951 are the most popular. Instead of
having a somewhat incongruously rounded rump, the 1951 Mercury
gained new vertical taillamps, replacing the erstwhile wraparound
horizontal units, and regally elevated rear sheet metal to match.
The buyers liked it. Few may realize it today, but among the
historic three-year run of Mercury that commenced in 1949, the
final cars from 1951 held the sales lead. This beautiful 1951
Mercury Coupe is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen
