Vehicle Description
This 1978 Ford F250 4x4 Pickup is a true gem of a truck. Extra
Clean Western Truck that was re-powered with a 429 V8 by the 2nd
Owner. 2 Owner Truck!! The 2nd owner purchased from the original
owner in the mid 80's when the truck had around 60,000 miles on it.
The new owner than put a new 429 in the truck because the 400 V8
that was in it was tired and he wanted more power. He used this
truck only as an occasional use truck and claims the 89,xxx miles
are original. It sure looks and drives like that is the case.
The body on this truck is super straight and he did have it
repainted in it's original Silver and Red colors. It still looks
fantastic!! It has a spray in bed-liner to protect the bed and a
high end custom tool box as well. Interior is pretty original and
in beautiful condition with the exception of newer carpet and the
seat was recovered. Everything is working on this truck including
the 3 Gas Tanks and Gas gauges which is pretty rare. Even the
Braden Winch ($8,000 New) works.
This truck runs and drives excellent!! The 429 has plenty of power,
holds great oil pressure, and runs cool. It has an Aluminum Intake,
Electronic Ignition, Tuned Holley Carb, and Dual Exhaust. The NP435
Manual Transmission shifts great and it has the NP205 Transfer
Case. Axles are both Dana 60's with 4.10 Gears. It also came with
the towing package and there is a 12,000 pound winch on the front
that was put on in the early 80's along with the custom front
bumper. It is very hard to find a truck with this much eye appeal
in this condition with all of the right stuff on it. It will not
last.
