Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1961 Austin-Healey 3000
MKII BT7 roadster. This 3000 was converted to BN7 bodywork
(2-seater) prior to the current owner's purchase in 1974. Yes, it
has been with the same owner for 44 years. Fully restored to a nice
standard in the mid 90's and driven only 2,000 miles since.
The restoration is holding up well with only a few signs of minor
wear. Serviced by the same local English car specialist for two
decades. The multi-year professional restoration included a
complete paint and bodywork refresh, engine and driveline rebuild,
new interior with leather upholstery, suspension rebuild and of
course new rubbers and trim. An unused convertible top on restored
frame is included along with the side curtains, tonneau cover and
support bar, matching spare, original jack, owner's manual, parts
catalogue, restoration photos, stacks of receipts, the 1974-issue
title and a number of spare trim bits.
This example runs, drives, and sounds great (see video). The
inline-6 pulls strong and the triple carbs make a nice growl. The
gearbox feels good and the overdrive works properly. A beautiful
example in desirable OTS bodywork ready for touring or local
shows.
