Vehicle Description
'59 GM bodied cars are highly desirable, especially in the custom
world! This Oldsmobile has been heavily modified with the styling
of a traditional 60's custom. Door handles and side trim have been
shaved, the rear bumper, taillights etc., have been molded and
modified as well as the grill, headlights and front end. It has a
candy paint job with scallops. The best part is, the car was built
on a stretched 1996 Chevrolet Caprice chassis. While the car looks
like a traditional custom, it performs like a new car with all
updated suspension and drive-train. When the body was added to the
new chassis they channeled it to give the car a nice lowered stance
without detracting from the ride. It's powered by an Olds 455 with
a TH400 automatic trans that always fires right up, runs smooth and
has excellent performance.
The interior has a full custom dash with circular gauges, custom
upholstery with a traditional style stitch pattern, even the
headliner was stitched to match. The Caprice split bench was used
allowing for the passenger and driver to have separate adjustments.
The trunk was upholstered to match, even the underside of the lid
is upholstered! The engine bay is nicely detailed and painted body
color.
Cars like this typically sell in the $35k - $40k range. This one is
an older build, it looks great, looks like a 100 point car going
down the road but it does have various nicks and chips from being
driven which is the reason for its reduced price. Its a great car
if you like driving your car and participating in car events like
Torque Fest or Symco.
