Vehicle Description
Hunting for a classic Chevy that's equipped with looks to turn
heads and power under the hood that's sure to bring a smile to your
face? This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle has what you want on both
accounts. It features a dynamic exterior and carries big block
power under the hood that produces a note that's music to any
muscle car enthusiast's ears.
The Chevelle had proven a success for Chevy since it was introduced
a few years earlier, but its manufacturer - not content to rest on
its laurels - made some pretty substantial styling changes just a
year before this '67 closed out its first generation of Chevelles,
adding some refinement to its contours, a gradually sloping rear
roofline and a markedly broader front grille and bumper. The
result, as you can see here, is a vital, capable looking street
machine with decidedly more modern style than previous models. Its
black paint is in good form, serving as a great backdrop to the
array of chrome this Chevelle carries. You'll find that updated,
broad front grille and the bumpers in front and back appearing
straight and level, and the badging on all four sides is looking
sharp. Take a lap around and you'll see its alignment is on point,
as well - with even gaps between body panels and doors, hood and
deck lid that match up well with their surrounding steel and open
and close without issue.
The black vinyl interior remains in its original condition and has
come through the decades looking pretty darned good. The surfaces
of the bucket seats show no serious creasing or threadbare spots
and they've retained their shape well. The bench seat in back is
even fresher and an expanse of fresh black carpeting runs from
front to back inside. You'll find one very distinctive dash lurking
behind the original steering wheel, featuring a clear set of gauges
in the instrument cluster, a clean chrome panel on the passenger
side, and a nice woodgrain insert harboring switches over the
speedometer. The dash pad was likely replaced at some point as it's
nice and level, with no splits in sight. The original AM radio sits
front and center, while just below it, a generously proportioned
analog clock holds court in the center console. There's a pretty
spacious trunk area in back - even with the full-size spare inside,
there'll be plenty of luggage room for any weekend getaway you
might plan.
Climb inside, turn the ignition key and prepare yourself for the
auditory experience that follows. The 396 cubic inch V8 under the
hood is in fine form, with its Holley 4-barrel perched on top
underneath a chrome air cleaner and a pair of chrome valve covers
on its sides. 3" exhausts are running from front to back, and you
likely couldn't create a better sounding note even if you could
compose one from scratch. With an automatic 3-speed TH350
transmission in tow, as well as power brakes and power steering,
navigating and stopping this classic muscle car is a low-effort
undertaking. Unlike many of its competitors, this Chevelle features
rear coilovers in place of the more common leaf springs of the era,
so you'll be spared from shackle chatter and binding around corners
that often comes with them. This high-impact classic is sure to
turn heads as it cruises the asphalt on a set of 15" Rally wheels
outfitted with MasterCraft Avenger GT tires.
