Vehicle Description
Wonderful example of an “Advanced Designed” Chevrolet 3100 series
pickup. The Chevrolet 3100 series pickups built from 1947-1955 are
considered the “Advanced Designed.” As the VIN number indicates,
this truck was built in St. Louis, MO, in the month of May as a
1949 Chevrolet 3100 series half-ton pickup. This truck was a
complete body-off restoration that was done to high show-quality
standards. The body is very straight with great gaps throughout.
The hood and doors open and close very nicely. The paint quality
and correct two-tone color combination of Monaco Blue and Maryland
Black is truly stunning. The colors are complemented with red
pinstriping. The running board metal step plates were painted to
match the color scheme, which looks amazing. It has an exterior sun
visor, driver’s side mirror, turn signals and all new glass
throughout. The Deluxe model includes the chrome window frames,
grille, hood ornament, lighting bezels, front and rear bumpers. The
steel wheels have moon-style hubcaps and are wrapped with Bedford
whitewall tires. The rear bed was highly restored, including all
new wood and stainless hardware. The outstanding gray interior is
in like-new condition. It’s equipped with an overhead traffic-light
viewer, seatbelts and a modern-style radio with speakers in the
kicker panels. Everything in the interior is in working condition,
such as the gauges, horn, wipers, heat and radio. The engine
compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct items.
The engine is a matching-numbers 216ci “Thriftmaster” 6-cylinder
that runs excellent. As the engine number indicates, it’s a 1949
3100 series 216ci truck engine. The engine is coupled with a
3-speed manual transmission with column shift. The undercarriage is
nicely detailed throughout and mirror-quality. Everything has been
restored or replaced, such as the exhaust system, braking system
and suspension system. This vehicle has been serviced and
completely detailed. From the MS Classic Cars Collection.
