Vehicle Description
This 1936 Chevrolet pickup proves that good taste never goes out of
fashion. Restored to include V8 power, an updated suspension, an
A/C interior, and the right amount of flair, this is the pickup
that will turn heads.
Vintage pickups are all about getting in touch with the
satisfaction of a hard day's work. But when it has been hot rodded
like this Chevy, it's all about the hard work that went into making
it a great looking custom. The total package strikes the right mix
of vintage appearance and new style. And it's perfectly seen where
the all steel body of the tall, upright cab meets the amazing shine
of the paint. They took their time applying the Candy Apple Red and
plenty of clearcoat, so you really get to see the sunlight
highlight the creases in the sheetmetal and the gentle fender
curves. And it wouldn't be a true custom without some brightwork.
The tall waterfall grille, headlight surrounds, door handles, and
bumpers all have a mirror-like shine. But the details you'll really
enjoy are likely the classic pieces like the glossy oak in the
truck bed and the classic style cream wheels (they mask the more
aggressive tread of the tires.)
Inside you see more modern upgrades that still leave room for
classic flair. The seats are a great example. These modern buckets
look terrific in tan leather, and with less than 4,600 miles on the
whole build, there's barely a crease in them. Plus, they leave room
for a vintage tweed that looks great and feels comfortable. This
same leather and tweed is continued on the custom door panels,
around the cab, and on the headliner for a full uniform feeling.
Plus, with the exterior red returning on the dash, this really has
a very thoughtful total presentation. We love how they left the
crank in the dash to tilt the front windshield and remind you how
they got their breezes back in '36. But now this modern street
machine keeps you cool with modern R134a air conditioning. There's
even an AM/FM/CD stereo that's nicely hidden so that you can get
modern tunes in this vintage ride. But as you slip behind the wood
and chrome steering wheel, grab the Lokar shifter, and gaze over
the full VDO gauge package, you instantly know there has been some
nice upgrades in the engine bay, too.
While the butterfly hood will draw plenty of attention, there's
also plenty to show off underneath it. The 400 cubic-inch small
block V8 looks tidy and has plenty of shine from the polished air
topper, valve covers, alternator, compressor, and much more. But
more than just looking good, this large small block has the added
power of an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Holley performance
intake, and the throaty rhythm of the dual exhaust fed by shorty
headers. But don't just listen to the pipes; look at their full
journey in the undercarriage photos. There you'll see how thorough
the build is because even the frame shines from Candy Apple Red.
Plus, you'll also spot an upgraded independent front end with
tubular arms and adjustable coilovers. Add in great anytime
features such as the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission,
power steering, and front disc brakes, which all makes this a great
looking pickup that's easy to drive anywhere.
You looked through all the photos. You've seen how tidy this truck
is, even in the undercarriage. It's a truly interesting and nicely
restored Chevy pickup that will get people talking because of its
high quality and gorgeous execution. If you're ready to be the
