California Car with great solid body. Doors and hood line up well. In 2018 the truck was painted in gloss black. They really did a beautiful high quality paint job. Please see all photos and the video. It looks even better when you see it in real life. This car really deserves to be called a “headturner”. To me this is by far the best color for a classic truck. General information about this make and model:
The Ford F100 from 1953 till 1956 is the second generation of the Ford F-Series. The Ford F-Series was redesigned by Ford for 1953 with a more integrated look. The pickups also obtained their widely familiar names: The F-1 now became the F-100, the F-2 and F-3 now became the F-250, and the F-4 now became the 1-ton F-350. Optional interior amenities were new, including a dome light, lighter, arm rests, sun visors and a radio. On March 13, 1953, the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission became an option.
The second generation seems to be the most desired body style for collectors and enthusiasts. The short bed style is the most valuable version, V8 automatic is also the most desired option (based on selling prices). It is very hard to find a restored 1953 Ford F100 in gloss black. I consider the value of at least $40K (as of May 2018).
I tried my best to describe this car as detailed and honest as possible. This car is sold as is. All classic cars, regardless of age, mileage or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure.
Purchased from grandfather, vintage pickup finally is heading to a well-deserved retirement
Brothers like to build, and now there’s a dad-and-daughter project in the works, too
Hand-me-down from uncle to nephew is in original and running condition
The yellow-and-maroon paint scheme may not be to everyone’s liking, but the seller of the Pick of the Day, a 1956 Ford F-100, notes that the pickup is a “very original” fat-fender example
My oldest son, Rob, and I purchased an old farm truck that had almost as much rust as it did clean metal.
Let’s say you are buying your dream car, and you really can’t decide between the classic look of an old truck, or a modern muscle car.
So, what do you think is the fastest-growing segment of car collectors? European sports cars? Rare muscle cars? Classics?
An upcoming exhibit tracing the history of Ford F-Series pickup trucks since 1948, announced for January by LeMay seemed like a good jumping-off point for today’s Pick of the Week.
