Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 19th year in the
classic and muscle car business. Chevrolet introduced the Chevelle
in 1964 as an intermediate-sized sedan to slot between the Chevy II
/ Nova and the full-size Impala, as well as to compete with Ford's
Fairlane. Pontiac's release of the GTO that same year meant that
the Chevelle was soon pressed into service as Chevrolet's response
to the burgeoning 'youth market' and the birth of the muscle car
craze. As Chevy began offering more powerful engines in its
intermediate, many from the fire-breathing Sting Rays, the Chevelle
became Chevrolet's representative during the muscle car wars. This,
along with the fact that within 3 years there were over a million
(!) Chevelles on the road, helps to explain why this popular
workhorse is woven so deeply into the fabric of muscle car lore.
Our sinister-looking 1968 Chevelle clearly illustrates why these
cars remain so popular. Originally a Malibu Sport Coupe V8 (13637),
our road warrior has been upgraded with SS trim and mechanicals.
Beneath the SS hood rests a 454 ci Chevy big block that's been
dressed as a period correct 396 with the chrome valve covers, open
air filter element, exhaust manifolds, etc. Additional goodies
include a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, a 12-bolt rear end
with 3.73 gears and Positraction, 15x8 Corvette rally wheels, power
steering, HEI, console, good gauges with in-dash tachometer, and
beautifull black bucket seat interior. This is a great-looking,
fun-to-drive muscle car that would be right at home in your garage.
Gasoline credit card not included. Street Dreams is a full service
