For Sale: 2006 Dodge Viper in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

What's better than getting your hands on a top-notch super coupe that has serious pedigree and can handily dispatch pretty much anything on the road? Easy... Getting your hands on a collectible, top-notch super coupe that mixes rare Copperhead Orange paint with $51K of high performance upgrades! As the original, mind-blowing land rocket for gearheads who desire ultimate performance, and want to be seen in one of the best cars money can buy, the Dodge Viper has been a poster child of audacious American attitude since 1991. And this 2006 SRT-10 is a professionally customized show stopper that takes speed and exclusivity from a 10 to a 12. Looking for a ride that's off the charts in virtually every way? Welcome to the world of MoPar madness!

"ONLY THOSE THINGS ARE BEAUTIFUL WHICH ARE INSPIRED BY MADNESS AND WRITTEN BY REASON."
- Andre Gide

Coiled a mere 2.5 inches off the pavement, this snake would be right at home in an OEM booth at a major auto show. Part of that big-time appeal is by design, given the car's aggressive Copperhead Orange paint, which, in 2006, was only applied to 51 coupes. That surly pigment, inspired by the legendary Dodge concept car of the same name, has been placed in the care of four meticulous owners since new. Thanks in part to roughly $900 of 3M Clear Bra, that 2-stage still reflects a fantastic, wet-look finish. Naturally, fit is exceptionally good, with composite body panels that show no signs of age-related stress. And it all adds up to one seriously capable supercar that'll show with the finest classics and run with the fastest challengers!

Infusing the classic lines of Shelby's storied Cobra with the modern flair of Dodge's svelte Stealth, the Viper has always championed a revolutionary appearance. And with a few choice mods, this ZB I coupe intensifies the profound. At the front of the car, menacing Dodge crosshairs lead HID headlights, clear fog lamps and an aggressive carbon fiber splitter. At the top of that grille, a monochromatic Viper emblem fronts a functional Ram Air Hood that features scale-like heat extractors. Behind that hood, pristine glass, reflected in body-matched mirrors, caps aggressively sculpted doors that are aligned with subtle cove stripes and brilliant "VIPER SRT 10" badging. Beneath those doors, aftermarket rockers, tailored to factory side-pipes, flow in to super wide quarters that are dotted with a glossy fuel filler and smoked marker lamps. And at the back of the car, smoked taillights split the difference between a flush Hennessey diffuser and a big Hennessey wing.

TEN IS BETTER THAN EIGHT

The monster rumbling under this Dodge's massive hood needs no introduction. Displacing 8.3 liters, and rolling out of the factory with an impressive 500 horsepower and 525 lb./ft. of torque, this 506 cubic inch beast is one of the most outrageous powerplants ever created! That said, for a car that looks like it should represent Fiat Chrysler at SEMA, that simply wasn't good enough. So, in 2009, the big mill was subjected to a $16K overhaul at the hands of Auburn Hills, Michigan's Arrow Racing Engines. That rebuild followed a polished Paxton supercharger with Diamond pistons, Crower roller rockers, Oliver Ultra Lite connecting rods and a forged bottom-end. Those upgrades play well with a high performance radiator, a Mopar Performance oil pan and high performance AEM engine management. The juice is supplied by an upgraded fuel system, which mixes RSI rails with twin 450LPH Walbro pumps and 1,000cc Injector Dynamics fuel injectors. Breathing is greatly improved by Belanger Tri-Y headers. And tuning was performed by Racing Solutions of Plano, Texas. Naturally, the car's tidy engine bay looks immaculate, from its Copperhead valve covers to its custom, lighted hood inlay. And, according to its seller, this Dodge currently spins 861 rear-wheel horsepower into 801 lb./ft. of torque.

LOW PRODUCTION, LOW STANCE

Crawl under the car and you'll find a virtually spotless chassis that utilizes a Tremec T56 6-speed to spin a sturdy Dana differential around mild, 3.07 gears. That proven drivetrain rolls in a fully adjustable Penske suspension. Power rack-and-pinion steering ensures turn-in is light and constantly engaging. At the corners, Copperhead Orange calipers utilize factory power-assist to clamp a quartet of vented rotors. Rowdy Corsa exhaust takes the soundtrack from soothing to brutal with the stomp of a foot. And power pounds the pavement via professionally powder-coated H-spokes, which twist 275/35ZR18 Nitto Invos in front of 345/30ZR19 Nitto Invos.

CUSTOMIZED COMFORT

Over the years, the Viper has quietly grown its brash, bare bones cockpit into a driving environment that's truly worthy of its outrageous performance and incredible aesthetics. And inside this coupe, that theme of conservative showmanship is elevated by choice customization. Bolstered bucket seats complement 2-tone leather with French-stitched Viper emblems. In front of those seats, a silver-trimmed dash hangs white-face telemetry, complete with Innovate Motorsports accessory gauges, above a Pioneer CD player and adjustable foot pedals. Beneath that dash, a broad console plants a B&M Short Shifter next to a leather-wrapped emergency brake and switches for factory power windows. In front of the driver, a Viper-branded steering wheel laps a tilting column that's finished with a Valentine One radar locator. And those components are framed in clean carpet, 2-tone door panels and a tight headliner.
