Vehicle Description
This Grand Cherokee was designed as a truck-based SUV that offers
"crossover" refinement and capabilities. Then the SRT (Street and
Racing Technology) group worked their magic, and it became a 420
Horsepower luxury street rocket with all-wheel drive traction that
could smoke most sportscars. Then even that level of performance
was taken up a notch. So, if you are looking for the ultimate Sport
Utility vehicle, with the emphasis on Sport, this is your
truck.
Check out the window sticker for this Jeep. It was ordered with
every available option you could get. Even the paint was special
order Red Rock Crystal Pearl. There were only 318 others delivered
in this color in 2008. Other than that, the features that make this
a special vehicle are the definition of understatement. You may not
notice them, but they make a difference in comfort, convenience,
safety and performance. Smartbeam, self-leveling, high-intensity
discharge headlamps. Fog lights. Outside rear view mirrors that are
heated, self-dimming and fold away with memory. You will notice the
sunroof and can't miss those awesome SRT8 20" wheels. A splash of
chrome appears on the side molding and across the back bumper with
dual chrome tailpipes peeking out of the center with a single SRT8
badge on the hatch hinting at what this otherwise normal looking
Jeep is really capable of.
Open the door and you will find a rich, dark slate gray interior
with a leather wrapped steering wheel that tilts and telescopes and
is heated. There are power leather seats with adjustable lumbar
supports and seat position memory. Even the pedals are power
adjustable! So, we hope you are getting the idea that it has the
best of everything in this interior too. Hitting a few more of the
high points. There is Dual zone climate control. Power windows and
locks, brakes and steering. MyGIG multimedia system with GPS
Navigation system and back up cameras. A Boston Acoustics Premium
sound system with AM/FM, 6-disc DVD/MP3 player and Sirius satellite
radio. Your back-seat passengers will be treated to heated seats
too along with a DVD entertainment system group, overhead console
and a video system with Sirius back seat TV. There is one interior
feature that usually stays hidden beneath the rear cargo cover and
doesn't appear on the window sticker. That would be the
patriotically colored, red, white, and blue NOS bottles.
And of-course those are what take this SRT developed and tuned,
6.1-liter Hemi V8 that pumps out 420 Horsepower and 420-foot pounds
of torque, up a notch (or two) in performance. It is just awesome!
But, pop the hood and you will be hard pressed to notice anything
but a neat and clean motor sitting in a stock looking engine bay.
It runs that power through a 5-speed automatic transmission to all
four wheels through the Quadra-Trac, Active On-Demand 4WD.
Performance tuned steering works through a high-performance
suspension system to keep things under control with the help of an
Electronic Stability program and performance oriented anti-lock
brakes. The rubber meets the road through 255/45ZR20 tires in the
front with 28540ZR20 tires in the back with a tire pressure
monitoring system and display to be sure they are kept pumped up
and ready for whatever you ask of them.
This is not your parents SUV! This truck blends luxury and
performance in ways that are hard to imagine. So, don't try to
imagine it. Come on down and experience it. Then take it home with
you.
