For Sale: 1966 Ford Bronco in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

Beautiful, Frame Off Restored, 1966 Ford Bronco...First year, Original, Uncut Professionally Restored in the original Springtime Yellow...Original 289 V8...Ready to Show and Go!!!

Chances are you are aware of how hot these Early Ford Broncos are right now and with the new Bronco coming out in 2020 they will continue to increase in value!  It is very rare to find an uncut, 1966 U15 Bronco that has been restored to this level and this particular Bronco has a great history as well as it was owned by the same gentleman from 1985-2016. The restoration started in 1997 and continued until 2014. It was a labor of love and the gentleman who owned it kept great records and photo documentation along the way. It has only had 1400 miles put on it since 2007 and it runs and drives beautifully.  The gentleman who had the restoration work believes he was the 3rd owner and traced the history back to the original dealership that sold the car, Hollis Motor Company in McGehee, Arkansas. He bought it from a gentleman in Arizona in 1986 and at that time it had been lifted with cut fenders and repainted in a burgundy color. He drove it that way from 1986-1990 before putting it n storage from 1990-1997. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 1997 and made the decision to bring this '66 Bronco back to its original glory. He had no idea that it would turn in to a 17 year project but he actually enjoyed the entire process and learned a ton along the way.  After the restoration he barely drove the Bronco as it was a show piece and he had way too much money invested to let anything happen to it.  Reality set in and it was taking up the garage space while his everyday driver sat in the driveway so he made the difficult decision to let it go for someone else to enjoy.  A gentleman in Tigard, Oregon bought it and he and his family enjoyed sunny day drives for the year he owned it. He decided he wanted to look for a different classic so I scooped it up and transported enclosed to my showroom in Alpharetta, GA.  It is now available for the next lucky owner to enjoy and build some memories in this highly collectible first year Ford Bronco....maybe you!!!?

I will do my best to provide enough images, a video and an honest description to help you decide if this springtime yellow beauty should be in your garage. I am also a transport broker and can assist in getting you a great rate on open or Enclosed transport anywhere in the US. I also welcome overseas buyers and can assist you in getting this Bronco to the port of your choice.  Sit back and enjoy!

As mentioned this '66 underwent a professional frame off restoration. The chassis was sand blasted and painted. Every suspension and steering component was replaced or rebuilt.  All of the metal work was done to a very high level to bring this beauty back to its original uncut glory. Body was taken to the bare metal and any rust was addressed with metal and done right. He wanted it to be as stock as possible and he paid dearly for that.  He was not in any hurry and neither was the shop doing the work which was done between 1998 and 2004. As you can see in the pics the finished product was outstanding and now 14 years later has stood the test of time and still looks fantastic.  Paint quality is very high and this Bronco is definitely show worthy and will take home more than its share of trophies if that is what you enjoy. Body panels are extremely straight and overall body panel fit is excellent but not perfect. The original hard top was restored at the same time in the correct Wimbledon White color and looks great. The top does come off and was taken off for some convertible fun but still looks and fits like new. The front windshield folds down completely as you will see in one pic.  All of the glass was replaced. All of the weatherstripping was replaced.  The only thing I have done was to add the sport stripes down low which were optional. Those of you who are experts on the '66 model year will notice that the bumpers are not the correct one year only style but still look great.  The body is still near flawless with only a few very minor blems that most people would never notice.

The '66 Bronco had a very unique Silver interior color and during the restoration the owner was able to locate 9 yards of the original fabric which were used to give the interior the correct look and the seats are near perfect. The rear seat of the '66 is also slightly different than other years with different arm rests and this Bronco has the correct, original rear seat. Dash and door panels were repainted in the correct gray color which was also unique to the '66. Correct, thinner styled dash pad is like new. Correct front rubber mat. Window cranks arm rests and door handles are correct for the '66 model. The original, vacuum operated windshield wiper motors were sent out and restored. Knobs on the dash are correct and a new wire harness was installed and everything appears to be working correctly. Steering wheel looks great. The interior was painted body color at the time of restoration and still looks great.     I think you will see the interior is also show quality and looks amazing.

This Bronco is one of the earliest 289 V8 trucks that were produced and the original 289 was completely rebuilt to stock spec and has only 1400 miles on it since it was rebuilt and runs fantastic. Original carburetor was rebuilt. Stock original manifolds breathe out correct original style single exhaust. Original distributor was rebuilt. Original heads were machined. Original valve covers were used. Correct fuel pump with vacuum regulator. All new fuel lines and original fuel tank was boiled out and restored. Original oil bath air cleaner was restored. Clutch and throw out bearing were replaced and the original transmission was rebuilt in 2014 and transfer case was also completely gone through and 4wd works great. The entire braking system was restored with all new lines, brake cylinders and hardware. New U-joints, drive shafts and steering gear. Front hubs completely restored. Rubber body mounts, C-bushings and other suspension components were all replaced or restored. The steering column shifter was sent out and completely restored. The 3 on the tree shifter is a blast to drive and shifts smooth as butter. This '66 Starts right up, runs super strong, and brakes and handles as well, if not better, than it did brand new.Radiator was replaced and this Bronco runs nice and cool. It is ready to drive and enjoy!! Engine bay is highly detailed for show and you will be proud to drive this '66 to any show or cruise in and pop the hood.

This Bronco is riding on stock wheels and has a great set of the one year only, very hard to find 1966 Hub caps. These can sell for up to $2000 for a set. The undercarriage also looks fantastic and is nicely detailed . Front floorpans were replaced but done professionally and look like new. Original Spare tire location in side the cab attached to the tailgate. Rear hatch on hard top functions smoothly.  Original vin tag is mounted correctly on the drivers side kick panel and the matching vin # is stamped on the frame.  I have a file full of documentation from the build and I was able to speak to the gentleman who owned this Bronco since 1986 and he would love to stay in contact with future owners.

Make sure you watch the video so you can hear this bronco start up and running as well.
