For Sale: 1966 Pontiac LeMans in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

4 Door Pontiac LeMans Hardtop w/ automatic transmission and 326 cu in, 8 cylinder engine. Pretty good paint and excellent vinyl top ... looks good and runs quite well ... continually exercised over the last five years. It's a big very comfortable "boat"  and a pleasure to drive. Very good interior including new carpets and sound deadening rug pads. New whitewall tires with less than 50 miles on them. Completely new brakes including drums, wheel cylinders and brake lines; new gas line; new shocks front and rear.  Trunk restored.  New rebuilt carb installed. A bit hard starting if left for several weeks because fuel drains from fuel pump back to tank but new fuel pump in box is included just not installed yet. One cylinder has a valve tic which has decreased  quite a bit over several years of monthly exercise and several crankcase cleanings and oil changes.  Last compression test was 110-120 psi and balanced between cylinders.

Obviously on a car this old several things are not yet fixed or restored.  Needing attention is the A/C system and console blower switch ... current blower switch bypasses console switch but works just fine ... cars heats very well. Radio, antenna, interior light and clock need attention as does the windshield washer system.  Engine compartment wiring could be spruced up a bit but all is working.  Engine and surrounding areas are well cleaned but not repainted.  Manifold heat control valve is not working.  There has been a fair bit of body work done in the past and the exterior has been repainted with original burgundy color and the structure is quite sound. There could have been a bit more sanding before repainting but it's pretty good. My next project was to be the rocker panels which need a bit of restoration ... they look good from outside but some interior rust removal and some minor patching with liquid steel (not bondo) and stainless mesh is necessary. I just can't be on my back and under the car anymore.  All in all, a very nice classic car that I have really enjoyed working on and driving ... and without the hefty price of a show car.
