The Tempest line, including the GTO, was restyled for the 1965
model year, adding 3.1 inches to the overall length while retaining
the same wheelbase and interior dimensions. It sported Pontiac's
characteristic vertically stacked quad headlights. The dashboard
design was improved, and an optional rally gauge cluster added a
more legible tachometer and oil pressure gauge. The 389 engine had
revised cylinder heads with re-cored intake passages, improving
breathing. Rated power increased to 335 hp for the base 4-barrel
engine. This particular GTO has a very interesting story with only
having 3 owners. It has never been driven in the winter and only
driven on nice days. Even though the car was in good condition, it
has been completely restored with a frame off rotisserie down to
every nut, bolt, screw and washer. Not a panel on this car has been
welded on or replaced. It is all original sheet metal. This GTO
also retains all of its original drive train components, including
cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, carburetor, and
even distributor. We also have a full PHS report decoding every
option. This is truly one of the nicest GTO's to come through our
facilities. Give us a call or email at
