The Chevrolet Chevelle is a mid-sized automobile which was produced by Chevrolet in three generations for the 1964 through 1978 model years. Part of the General Motors (GM) A-Body platform, the Chevelle was one of Chevrolet's most successful nameplates.
The Chevelle Super Sport, or SS represented Chevrolet's entry into the muscle car battle. The Chevelle SS396 became a series of its own in 1966 with reinforced frames and revised front suspension: higher-rate springs, recalibrated shocks, and thicker front stabilizer bar, but with different exterior trim.

The one we have has simulated hood scoops, performance tires, bright trim moldings, correct ED stamped with VIN number stamping #7B158645 396 cubic inch engine with 325 horses, a Muncie 4-speed, large wrap around tail lamps went into a new rear end with standard backup lights, 3:31 Posi rear end, master cylinder brake system incorporated a warning light, power steering, AM radio, a collapsible steering column, and special instrumentation.
