Yes! We finally have a 442 in the house again and it fits so well
with our classic car inventory. If you've been looking for a 1967
Oldsmobile 442, you might want to have a look at this one.
Some folks aren't exactly sure what the 442 stands for. If you
know, pardon our public service announcement. The first 4
represents the 4-speed manual. The second 4 represent the 4 barrel
carburetor. And the number 2 represent the dual exhaust.
We'll be honest with you. This is a great car. But it's not a
rotisserie restoration with a big and new LS engine pushing 500
horses. This example was affectionately restored using most all the
original parts. The turquoise metallic finish has a fantastic
glossy reflection which might make newer cars jealous. And the
newer wheels look proud to be on all four corners.
Under the vented hood resides GM's 400 ci power plant which has
been rebuilt. A quick glance at the firewall reveals the tag
stamped with a 5V, denoting the 442 option. Removing the air
cleaner lid you'll see the 4 barrel carburetor. Dual exhaust makes
sure she breaths perfectly. The 3:90 posi rear-end is fed from the
rebuilt M21 4-speed. Factory disc brakes ensures enough braking
power to halt the action.
Inside the car you'll likely notice the big floor shifter first.
The white knob really pops out against all the black inside. As you
look around, you'll likely feel everything inside looks pretty
respectable. All the vinyl and dash areas are looking good. There
might be a blemish here or there but it's ready to cruise.
At the end of a day cruising car shows, you'll be happy to have
done so in this car. After all, this 442 will be happy to be your
driver.
