Vehicle Description
Summer is coming and what could be better for some fun in the sun
than a classic '67 Mustang convertible? Well, this tribute to the
Shelby GT 350 in a gorgeous shade of blue might bring a little
attitude to the party and be a little bit better. Check it out and
see what you think.
This car looks good from any angle. A Mustang convertible looks
good without any extra help, both with the top up or down. But add
the roll bar into the picture, and it starts to set it apart from
the crowd. The blue paint shines brightly and the GT350 stripes
along the rocker panels are the next tell that this isn't your
average Mustang. Up front, a pair of serious driving lights are set
in the grill next to a Shelby GT 350 badge. A thin chrome bumper
has white rally stripes that start below the bumper and continue up
and onto the hood. A twin nostril scoop along with hood pins hint
that there is something powerful lurking below. The stipes continue
on the trunk which has another Shelby badge and the rear spoiler
that integrates with the fenders so nicely. Those stripes continue
through the Cobra gas cap and back bumper and through the lower
valence that has cutouts for the dual exhaust pipes. The car sits
on special, Shelby 5-lug wheels that complete the look quite
nicely.
Open the door and check out the black interior with splashes of
chrome and polished metal. The door panel has a thin chrome
highlight and the rocker has a polished kick protector. The black
pleated bucket seats look great and are comfortable. There is a
three spoke, Shelby wood grained steering wheel with a Cobra center
that sits in front of the dash board which is a brushed aluminum
panel with the speedo and engine gauges set into it that are all
trimmed in chrome. An aftermarket head unit with CD player is off
to the right and a Cobra style floor shifter for the manual
transmission sits in the center console. Shelby GT 350 floor mats
protect the carpeting from the sun and the sand and the convertible
top looks like new with a nice boot to dress it up while it is
down. The trunk includes a correct mat for a finished look as well
as the spare tire which is also mounted on a Shelby wheel.
Pull those hood pins and pop the hood. The first thing you notice
is how neat and clean it is with a special trim panel dressing up
the look running from the cowling to the shock towers and inner
fenders, as well as on the radiator and support making them look
clean and tidy. Sitting in the middle of all that you will find a
strong running 289 V8 that makes this car a blast to drive. Its has
a chrome air topper with a 289 High Performance sticker sitting on
top of an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and an Edelbrock Performer
intake. Finned aluminum Cobra valve covers look great and there are
new plugs, wires and cap to make sure everything gets good spark.
Also adding to the fun to drive factor of this car is the 4-speed
manual transmission you get to stir around as you give those
215/70R15 BFGoodrich Radial TAs a workout.
Summer is almost here. Get ready for it by coming on down to see if
your stories from this year will be about your adventures in this
sweet Shelby convertible.
