Vehicle Description

FANTASTIC 1966 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK SHELBY GT350 RECREATION...BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED, GT 40 ROLLER 302 V8, 5-SPEED...READY TO SHOW AND GO!!!!

This '66 Fastback is an absolutely beautiful Pony that was restored about 20 years ago with the Shelby GT 350 theme. It looks like it was just restored a month ago as it has been pampered by the gentleman who has owned it for the past 20 years. He kept in under cover in his garage and only brought it out for cars shows and cruise in events when the sun was shining. He collected about 50 trophies over the years but his kids have grown up and are no longer interested in going with him to the shows so he decided the time had come to let it go to the next lucky owner to enjoy...maybe you?!

This was an original San Jose, CA production car that spent much of its life there and as a result was extremely rust free prior to restoration. The body is extremely straight and the Candy Apple Red paint still looks like it is wet. I would definitely consider the paint to be show quality.  A correct high quality Shelby style fiberglass hood was used and the Wimbledon white stripes are buried under the clear coat.  Correct  plexiglass rear vent windows were installed as well as the side vents and GT350 striping along the lower body.  Chrome, bumpers and trim all look excellent!  Although it is not flawless, it is pretty darn close!

Interior is in great condition as well. Beautiful Woodgrain Shelby style steering wheel with Cobra horn button. Seats, door panels, dash, headliner all look excellent.   Nice aftermarket center console.  Nice Sony am/fm/cd neatly installed in the dash with speakers in the rear hatch area and Blaupunkt amp under the dash. All of the original gauges appear to be working correctly and an aftermarket tach is added on the steering column.  Factory seat belts front and rear. The interior looks great overall and ready to be shown off as well.

This '66 was originally an A-code 289 4bbl car that has been upgraded to a ground pounding GT40 302 roller crate motor that was installed at the time of restoration and has about 9600 miles since then. Holley 750 carburetor feeds the fuel to this 300+ hp motor. Nice set of headers breathe out the H-pipe dual exhaust that has a great tone. MSD Electronic ignition assures easy, reliable starts. Engine bay has been nicely detailed and you will be proud to pop the hood at any event.  The Borg Warner 5-speed is a blast to drive and mated to the Ford 9" Post-trac rear end with 4.11 gears providing a great combination of stop light to stop light power and still able to cruise at highway speeds without issue. Suspension was completely updated and this fastback handles the road beautifully. Slightly lowered with a nice stance and a great set of 15" American Racing Torque Thrust polished wheels wrapped with Goodyear Eagle rubber with lots of tread left.  Front disc brakes stop this fastback with ease.  This pony sounds as good as it looks...make sure you watch the video so you can hear it running.  The floorpans were painted body color at the time of restoration and look amazing. No heavy undercoating hiding anything, just super nice original floorpans as you would expect from an original California car. The rest of the undercarriage is also nicely detailed.  Inside of trunk looks great as well.

Overall, this '66 Fastback is absolutely ready to show and go and is a blast to drive!  It is a very high quality car and I am confident the next lucky owner will be thrilled when it arrives.  Asking price is $45,900 and serious buyers can call me at 770-359-8400.  I am also a transport broker and can assist in getting the buyer a great rate on open or enclosed transport anywhere in the US. I also welcome overseas buyers and can assist in getting the car to the port of your choice.
