Wraparound windshield - a truck industry first Only year for
seven-foot cargo bed At MotoeXotica Classic Cars, we are proud to
present this 1955 Chevrolet 3200 Half-ton Pickup, a great example
of the modern transformations happened to pickups in the wake of
similar updates to passenger cars. This particular example was made
at GM's former assembly plant here in St. Louis, Missouri and it is
part of the second series for 1955. Finished in Transport Blue, the
truck's paint and trim are in overall excellent order, with just a
few scattered blemishes visible at close range. The truck's windows
are in very good condition, as are its lights. The glass and lights
are clear and crack-free. Overall, the truck's bodywork is straight
and solid, the truck's bumpers fit tightly to the body and are in
better-than-average shape. The seven-foot cargo bed has a wooden
floor and is ready to haul stuff or just be appreciated. Rolling on
Coker Classic wide whitewall tires, P235/75R15 at all four corners,
this truck has steel wheels topped with full moons and beauty
rings. The tires are in satisfactory order while the wheel covers
look great. Under the hood is Chevy's breakthrough 265 CID V-8
engine which invigorated many of the brand's nameplates in 1955. It
has an Edelbrock air cleaner and breathes through dual exhausts.
Backing up this motor is an interesting surprise - a modern
five-speed manual transmission. Combined with the engine's decent
amount of torque, the transmission's extra cogs should make
acceleration easier and more frugal on the highway since there was
no overdrive fifth gear available in 1955. Inside, the truck's dark
blue vinyl bench seat is a handsome contrast to the exterior color
and is in excellent condition. The black floor mats are in great
order, the headliner is in similar condition and the three-spoke
steering wheel is in excellent order. The instrument panel has an
aftermarket temperature gauge underneath and is in fine order, as
are the inner door panels. Rounding out the interior is a JVC AM/FM
stereo with cassette deck. Nineteen fifty-five marked the first
year for the truck's new body style. A new "wrap-around"
windshielda truck industry first came standard and optional
wrap-around rear window on Deluxe cabs.Power steering and power
brakes became available for the first time on GM trucks. The
electrical system was upgraded to 12 volts. Only year for
seven-foot bed length. Fenders have single headlights and one-piece
emblem is mounted below horizontal line on fender. Classic truck
fans should come by MotoExotica Classic Cars to check this second
series beauty out. This engine and transmission combo is sure to
put a smile on your face and surprise other drivers who think an
"old" truck is slow to move away from a traffic light or a stop
sign. This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis,
Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 33,657 miles. It is
sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
