or the top of the dash- even the door panels are free of any of the
oxidation that often occurs after 15 years of life and you'll find
an assortment of gauges in the instrument cluster that haven't lost
any of their clarity. In addition to the vitality you'd want in a
daily driver, there are plenty of comfort features on board, as
well, including air conditioning, heated seats, a tilt column,
cruise control and power windows, power door locks and power seats.
Your audio needs will be well looked after by an AM/FM/CD player
standing by in the center of the dash. The trunk area in back is
nice and tidy, with no stains or disruptions on its charcoal
colored surfaces.
The 3.9-liter DOHC engine sitting under the hood carries 280
horsepower, so when you step into the accelerator, expect this
lightweight drop top to accelerate with enthusiasm. The compact V8
sits at the center of a very clean engine compartment, with no
errant wires or grime anywhere in sight, and teams with a smooth
shifting 5-speed automatic overdrive transmission to make up a
drivetrain that's easy to operate in stop and go driving, yet
provides the performance you're looking for on the open road. There
are anti-lock power disc brakes at all 4 corners, and smooth power
steering makes this Ford a pleasure to drive as it cruises the
asphalt on its set of 17" cast aluminum wheels outfitted with
Michelin tires.
