This 1967 Buick GS 400 convertible is special car as it carries the
new generation V8 motor and sported the out of sight red "Star
Wars" air cleaner! The entire GS package was coming together and
forming its own identity instead of being an adjunct to the
Skylark- Special series. Production of 1967 GS 400 convertibles was
low to start with. Only about 2,140 cars in all forms. There were 9
three speed manual cars made and 422 four speed manual cars. Which
leads us to our example finished in bright red. The white soft top
looks incredible against the bold red paint, but with just one
touch of a button, the power roof folds down to reveal an even more
impressive interior. The rich black inside against the shining red
paint has the kind of bold and sophisticated presentation you want
from a Buick GS. All the best original trim is still in place, from
the chrome GS 400 badges on the door panels, to the Buick crest
sitting below the dash. Under the hood this car proudly shows off
the 400 cubic-inch powerplant. It had an advertised 340 horsepower,
but remember, those were days of underrating for the insurance
people. After all, this big block V8 with the four-barrel
carburetor has an unmistakably powerful rumble from the dual
exhaust. And being equipped with the one wire ignition means this
is one of the more reliable cars you can get your hands on from
this era. You can view this 1967 Buick GS in greater detail
