1970 Ford Boss 302 For Sale - Factory Grabber Blue, Factory Shaker
Car, Fully Documented LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1970
Ford BOSS 302 The pony car rivalry had begun in 1967 with the
introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro by General Motors. The Camaro
gave Ford its first real competition since introduction of the
Mustang in 1964. However, revenge was sweet with the 1970 Ford
Mustang Boss 302. The name was inspired by Ford stylist Larry
Shinoda, who had a nickname among Ford employees of "Boss" and 302
was the motor to power this legendary mustang. Under the hood, the
Boss's high-output 302 V-8 was said to produce 290 horsepower at
4600 rpm, actual output was estimated to be far higher. Mated to
the motor is the optional wide ratio 4 speed manual. Ford spared no
expense to ensure this would be a Trans-Am-worthy powerplant,
installing new "dry-deck" Cleveland-style heads with 2.33-inch
intake valves and no head gaskets, solid lifters, an aluminum
high-riser manifold, super-high-flow Holley four-barrel carburetor,
high-capacity dual-point ignition, four-bolt central-main-bearing
caps, cross-drilled forged crankshaft, and special pistons This car
was built on February 27 1970 and delivered to the Seattle District
Sales Office. It would remain unsold until May 19th of 1970 until
the sales team at Nissen Motor Company in Albany, Oregon would find
the cars first owner. Factory ordered and finished in the highly
desirable Grabber Blue exterior complemented by its black
reflective decals running along the side and completed with its
Black Vinyl interior. Powered by the high-output Boss 302 V-8
engine backed by a Top Loader 4 speed transmission with a
Traction-Lok 3.50 rear end this Boss has all the hardware needed to
have some fun on the street. This car is factory optioned with
extremely desirable factory Shaker Hood and complete with Sport
Slats, Rear Deck Spoiler, F60x15 Belted Goodyear Polyglass Tires on
Magnum 500 Wheels, Power Steering, Chin Spoiler, Tachometer, and AM
