The third generation Camaro is one of the most popular of this
classic American muscle car, and they do not get any better than an
IROC-Z!! The IROC-Z was produced to celebrate the Camaro being
chosen as the exclusive race car for the International Race of
Champions. This was an exclusive series of races that pitted the
absolute best from different forms of motorsport along with current
and past champions to see who was the best of the best. And this
IROC-Z is the absolute best of the best third generation Camaros.
In creating the IROC-Z, Chevrolet engineers stole the Corvette's
L98 Tuned Port Injected V-8 and mated it to a quick shifting four
speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 240 HP and
enough torque that GM had to add extra braces to the IROC to keep
it from twisting. The suspension of the IROC was lowered and
stiffened with specially valved Bilstein shock absorbers, and the
brakes were upgraded to disc all the way around. Wider tires were
fitted on special 16" five spoke aluminum wheels to help put the
power to the ground. Inside you'll find all the equipment you would
expect of a top of the line Camaro. There are power windows and
locks, cruise control, power driver seat, air conditioning, and a
factory AM/FM Cassette stereo w/graphic equalizer. The outside of
this IROC is in amazing condition that reflects the low mileage and
care this car has received. The color is unique to the IROC-Z with
the gold graphics, and is accented with gold inlays in the wheels.
